Covid-19: Novel Coronavirus Content Free to Access Wiley Online Library

It’s in these times of crisis where communities come together even more. As a publisher of trusted health science, we’ve made the relevant research articles, book chapters and entries in our major references freely available below, in support of the global efforts in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and further research in this disease and similar viral respiratory infections. Our approach is to use the world-class information we have available to directly improve health and to support the virtual efforts of healthcare practitioners globally. We are continually monitoring the developments and we will update the content of this page periodically.

The Lancet COVID-19

To assist health workers and researchers working under challenging conditions to bring this outbreak to a close, The Lancet has created a Coronavirus Resource Centre. This resource brings together new 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) content from across The Lancet journals as it is published. All of our COVID-19 content is free to access.

The National Library of Medicine is Expanding Access to Coronavirus Literature through PubMed Central

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) of the National Institutes of Health is working on multiple fronts to aid in the COVID-19 response through new initiatives with the global publishing community and artificial intelligence researchers. NLM is expanding access to scientific papers on coronavirus for researchers, care providers, and the public, and for text-mining research. This work makes use of NLM’s PubMed Central® (PMC), a digital archive of peer-reviewed biomedical and life sciences literature. PMC currently provides access to nearly 6 million full-text journal articles.

Access all the free English textbooks directly on SpringerLink. We have just launched an initiative that will initially last until the end of June. An approximate number of 500 textbooks, from a wide range of disciplines, are accessible without any restriction. The idea is that this may somehow facilitate teaching that, currently, has to be provided remotely.

We are writing to offer support to you, your faculty, students, and residents during this challenging time when face-to-face classes are being suspended at universities across the nation. We value the importance of education and believe that the process of teaching and learning must continue in new and creative ways.  In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have created a distance learning toolkit to help empower healthcare professions faculty to feel confident that AccessMedicine has the depth and breadth of content and functionality in place to serve as a cornerstone for online teaching and learning during this critical time.

Please find the informational distance learning resources listed below which are hyperlinked and will serve as useful guides in making a shift from in-person to virtual classrooms. These documents may be shared freely with your faculty, learners, and staff. If information is missing that would be especially beneficial, please let us know.

SAGE Article Processing Charges for Research Related to COVID-19

SAGE Publishing announces that it will publish open access any accepted research that is relevant to the treatment, transmission, cure, or social impact of COVID-19 without requiring article processing charges (APCs). Additionally, SAGE will fast track these papers for rapid publication and dissemination.

 

"SAGE aims to support the medical community in its efforts to prevent, detect, and treat COVID-19 as well as social and behavioral scientists as they assess the impact of the pandemic on society and propose solutions for individuals, communities, and governments," commented Bob Howard, Senior Vice President of Research at SAGE Publishing. "We believe firmly that the efforts of the research community will be critical to addressing our current challenges and are committed to supporting researchers as we navigate this difficult time."
